Our mission
Get YT Thumbnail is a free, browser-based tool for downloading the thumbnail of any YouTube video in every resolution YouTube provides — up to HD 1280×720 — as lossless PNG or original JPG. We built it to be the fastest, cleanest and most private way to grab a thumbnail: no sign-up, no watermarks, no software to install.
How the tool works
Everything happens on your device. When you paste a video link, your browser requests the publicly available thumbnail images directly from YouTube’s image servers and, if you choose PNG, converts them locally using HTML5 Canvas. We never receive, store or process the images, and we keep no record of the videos you look up.
Who uses it
Content creators recovering their own artwork, designers studying what works, researchers and educators analyzing digital media, and journalists referencing published content. Our thumbnail size guide also helps creators get their own thumbnails right.
Ethical commitment
